Solution

Fast support for the integration of a hammer mill provided without the need for a mountain of paperwork

Expansion measures at animal feed mills always require the mill control system to be adapted: new control cabinets, additional frequency converters, software updates. With the assistance of BHS Control Systems, Weissachmühle, a mill operator in Allgäu, Germany, quickly and easily implemented these extensive measures following the installation of a hammer mill.

Weissachmühle is a dynamic family business that puts high customer satisfaction at the heart of everything it does. That’s why it never stops improving its production of high-quality flours and farm animal feed. The company was able to make these improvements efficiently and without avoidable interruptions thanks to support from BHS Control Systems during the implementation of a new hammer mill, for example. BHS provided the project with control technology support, installed new control cabinets and frequency converters, and updated the control software.

BHS Control Systems was able to estimate which solutions would work best for the customer thanks to the successful long-term partnership when they sent the initial request, which meant the modernization work was fast and cost efficient. In the case of certain technical measures, Weissachmühle also drew on existing support contingents. This helped streamline coordination processes, which proved to be a major advantage for the mill operator. Among others, a flow controller, which is an important tool for continuous metering, was replaced at short notice. Along with that, a new valve control system has also been installed for new cells using the support contingents. All this was done without the customer having to confirm orders or approve quotes. The fact that support is provided quickly and without the need for a mountain of paperwork means mill operators may be spared longer interruptions in production and the loss of revenue that comes with them.
