Integration of two new packaging lines into the overall control system with batch tracing and process visualization.

BHS Control Systems assisted traditional company Scheller Mühle, located in Reisgang in Upper Bavaria, in expanding its packaging lines in 2019. Scheller, known for its blue “Mehlzauber” packaging, operates a mill in Reisgang near Pfaffenhofen an der Ilm. The company uses two milling systems to offer an extensive range of different, high-quality flour and semolina types in both the conventional and certified organic varieties. BHS Control Systems has been working with Scheller on its control technology for ten years.

Scheller Mühle sells quality flours and semolina under the name “Mehlzauber” (Magic Flour). The company takes care of every step, from the grinding process to labeling, up to the marketing step itself. When it came to time to install two new packaging lines, Scheller turned to its proven partner for all things control technology. The lines are made up of labeling and palletizing machines, as well as conveyor technology, among other things. The project saw the entire plants transferred to the existing control solution using process visualization, and the conditions were created that make it possible for each product to be traced seamlessly using it batch number.

Scheller already relied on customized, industry-specific solutions, including programmable logic controllers (PLCs) with clear process visualization, for its existing plants. These are based on the WinCC Open Architecture software from Siemens. The new lines were integrated into the system without issue. BHS Control Systems also took care of the wiring and installing the control cabinets.
